What are your thoughts on assisted suicide, is it an act of mercy or is it illegal death act ?

Should Euthanasia be made legal ?

What are your thoughts on allowing people to decide when its the right time to die and allowing an assisted suicide to take place ?

Personally im a lil on the fence, it would take some serious working out, trying to decide if someone is compident enough to make that choice and if so are they then classed as too well to die ?

If someone is not compident enough to state their case, then they may be disallowed because they arnt of sound mind, where do we draw the line ?

Having said that, i personally would not let an animal suffer if it was in pain and there was nothing more i could do to ease it, so why should we as humans have to endure the indignity ?

Does it then become a religious debate about suicide ? lordy where does it all end, what do you think ?

I think the agreement might have to be made before any illnesses even occur. If you don't want to be alive in some state where there is no quality of life you can agree with someone to make sure you aren't, even though it is still illegal here. Theres the option to go to Sweden were the laws are more relaxed than they are here. Of course its all talk until something like that happens and then the feeling may be very different. I believe we have the choice. Everything is about choice.

Stevens post made me aware of something I missed. I feel you should have the choice, although opinions do change. When the time comes, how do you know how you'll feel?

Yeah with time things change and maybe later you won't be able to communicate that you changed your mind. A medical break through might come after you made the decision to go through with assisted suicide, is it worth while to wait in that situation? Another difficult one.
