Before we begin, whilst we are all free to share our views on this topic i would ask that you approach the topic with some delicacy for the sake of those that may have been touched by suicide in some way or other.
Thank you.

Suicide is such an unforgiving thing, not in the act itself but by the devastation it leaves behind.

Some are lucky enough to find some kind of explanation, whilst others are left with nothing, except the disbelief, guilt, anger and then the deep seated loss.

I know a lot of people used it as a cry for help that went to far, whilst others just cant see a way out or forward and use it as a means to escape, either for themselves or to relieve in their minds , their loved ones from their suffering.

I have seen the devastation it leaves behind first hand by trying to share the grief with a friend of mine whos brother left too soon just two weeks before my son died.

The not knowing anything was wrong, or the idea that they didnt reach out for help was and still is unbearable for the family.

In the same instance im not one of those people who bring religion into the subject, shaking a finger and saying their sole will never get into heaven ect ect, i dont believe that for a second.

Also i dont think suicide is a cowards act, i think it must take every last ounce of energy to be able to leave your loved ones in such a way, without warning, its a desperate act although it seems very selfish , we can only imagine how it must really be.

How do you feel about it ? xxx

Firstly I'll agree with your last point first Wend, suicide is not a cowardly thing, because I think it has to be the hardest thing someone would do. I don't think it would be the first solution to people's problems, its mostly only taken when there's no other option. When in a place of pure desperation it can be pretty dark and confusing and nothing is clear.

I think circumstance has to come into it as with many things, because someone may choose suicide because they fell they are a burden to their family and friends and think they would be better off without them. So I don't think suicide is always selfish either.

I can't begin to understand how a person could still go through with it knowing their family and friends will be left with the devastation.

Its a difficult one. Religion doesn't come into it for me, but I suppose it could be one of the causes of suicide.
