Olive oil mixes well with water, and actually attracts moisture to the skin, and helps to hold it in. Olive oil does not block the natural functions of your own skin (so your skin is able to continue sweating, shedding dead skin cells, and producing its' own moisture), and because it has an oxidation rate that is lower than your natural skin, it is a perfect ingredient to fight oxidation. Because it is an oil, it helps to form a barrier against irritants to the skin, but without clogging the pores. Olive oil has been used to treat a long list of skin problems, and is expecially helpful for dry skin. It is definitely an oil worth trying!
