How to get rid of a Ghost Empty
PostSubject: How to get rid of a Ghost   How to get rid of a Ghost Icon_minitimeWed Feb 27, 2013 4:49 am

Are you hearing strange noises and voices? Seeing shadows and apparitions? Are doors, windows and drawers opening by themselves? Are you feeling really cold spots in your house without explanation or smelling offensive unexplained odours?
If so your place could be haunted! The first step in getting rid of a ghost is determining that you actually have one. As the above points many times can be easily explained.

Step 1: Determining a haunting.

* Ensure that all doors and windows are closed.

* All rubbish is put outside sealed in the bin.

* Turn off all electrical devices such as TV's, Stereos, Radios, IPods, Computers, Microwaves, Dryers, Washing machines etc.

* Find any drafts or places where wind can get into the house, cracks, ventilation ducts etc.

* If you have small children make sure that they aren't messing with things they shouldn't. e.g. Moving things around the house.

* Check out reflections in windows, sliding doors, mirrors.

* Make a note of where natural shadows fall at different times of the day.

* Make sure all pets are accounted for and are not creating noises, smells etc.

* Make sure no pests have died inside your home in the roof or walls. e.g. Mice/Rats.

* What is your current state of mind, are you anxious, depressed, sad or stressed. Moods such as these can affect your perception and judgment.

Investigate every logical/natural explanation before looking at the supernatural. Dont jump to conclusions and convince yourself the place is haunted without looking at the obvious first. If all of the above are clear and are not the source of your disturbance you could have a legitimate haunting?

Step 2: History.

* Check out the history of your dwelling, has anyone died in the house. Did anyone who had lived in the house die elsewhere?

* Was there a murder or violent death associated with the property? * How old is the building?

* Ask neighbors if they know anything of the history of the house?

* Are there burial sites on your property or is it built on an old cemetery?

* Check out power lines and the immediate geography of your property, sometimes these kinds of barriers can trap ghosts.

* Have you recently visited a place that is reputed to be haunted or a place you suspected could be?

* Ghosts sometimes attach themselves to sensitive individuals and follow them home. You could be one such individual?

* Ghosts are not necessarily old ones more likely they are the recently deceased. Is the disturbance causing you discomfort? As some people can share a property with a ghost without any problems. Unfortunately sometimes ghosts become agitated with their predicament and act out simply because you are in "their" house or they are frustrated with the condition they find themselves in. If so don't call the priest just yet try the steps below...

Step 3: Banishment

* Start first by simply asking the spirit to leave, speak openly and out loud. Not aggressively but with determination. Explain that they are dead and that the house no longer belongs to them. And it is time for them to move on. You may have to repeat this several times and in different parts of the house.

* And as cliche as it sounds direct them toward the light, tell them that they have people waiting for them in the light and that they will not be judged.

* Or that they may stay under the provision that the no longer create any disturbances or scare anyone on the premises.

* Does the spirit have unfinished business? Unfortunately unless you are a spiritual medium you wont be able to find out what that business is very easily.

* Don't speak openly in he house about the ghosts existence, they sometimes feed on this energy.

* If the spirit does not leave you may have to call a reputable Spiritual Medium (beware of flakes who only want your money) who can communicate with the spirit and find out what it wants and why it wont leave.

* Dont become aggressive and yell at the spirit or threaten them this could inflame the situation. Do not use Ouija boards or conduct a Seance to communicate with the ghost. Call a professional Investigations Team or if you must a respectable Spirit Medium.

* Don't use magical spells or rituals that you have been given or read on the internet. Unless you are very experienced. Witches and Magicians take spirits very seriously and know what they are doing. * Do not show the spirit that you are scared of it, spirits feed on fear and therefore will give it more energy.

Other things to try:

* Burn some banishing/protection incense, sometimes called smudging. Use Sage, Sandalwood or Frankincense and Myrhh. Walk around with it and smudge all rooms whilst asking the spirit to leave strongly and unemotionally, but with willpower.

* Loud noises are offensive to ghosts, perhaps play some loud music. The Chinese invented cymbals to ward off spirits.

* Spirits/Ghosts are just like people, and have as many different personalities, always be strong willed and forthright when dealing with them.

If your ghost is still bothering you it would be a very substantial haunting, your best options are to call Serious Paranormal Investigators or Spiritual Mediums with vast experience in this field.

Great post Wen. Teams typically aren't familiar with the ambient sounds, smells, lighting etc. of a building they investigate. The history is often researched, but, that isn't enough. Also, understanding everyday items like electronics is valuable. A famous team on TV found a stereo which would turn itself on, even after being turned off. I had a TV which would turn on at full volumn when the power went off and on. It has to do with the type of remote switch inside. Understanding our everyday surroundings is very important. Like the list says, look at all logical causes first. Better to dismiss a legit piece of evidence than be fooled by a false one.
