Although the law in the UK states that the pension/retirement age for both men and women is 65, the new policy is that they cannot be forced to retire unless circumstances warrent it.

Do you think that older people might prevent our young from getting full time or experienced work, especially in these times, or do you think that the option to stay on is justified ?

I feel bad for people who looked forward to retirement, only to find it is not as good as they hoped for. It also holds up a lot of jobs for others who need them. The current problem has made it tough for all. It's a vicious circle.

I think if the old person is still capable of doing their job then they should be allowed to stay. Yes its hard to get a job these days, but age shouldn't be the deciding factor, who's better for the job experience wise or skill wise should be. Yes young people are coming out of school looking for jobs and there isn't any, but I don't think someone who has been doing their job for years and years should be sacrificed for young blood. That's not to say it doesn't happen.
