It's a fact that many cosmetics companies now try only to market their products to younger women, as more mature women simply do not wear makeup anymore. Wearing makeup, however, doesn't have to be a long process, no matter what your age. Even younger women starting their careers, motherhood, or those who just hate sitting in front of the mirror for an hour getting ready in the morning are looking for a quick, simple makeup routine that will make them look fresh and polished, without looking overdone. That's exactly the kind of routine you will find below.
First, if you feel that you need to minimize your skin care routine, switch to a moisturizer with sunscreen and anti-aging benefits. Yes, they really do make those, and no, you didn't really have to be using three separate products this whole time. Science has advanced well enough to make good skin care a simpler process than it was for our mothers. Take advantage of it. You're skin will be prepped in no time. Just be sure that the sunscreen has an SPF of at least 20, and that the cream also fights and reverses the signs of aging. You should be able to find facts on or inside the package about these added benefits, as well as information on clinical trials and results.
Next, rather than using heavy foundation, which, by the way, only make fine lines look deeper, switch to a liquid-to-powder foundation. The liquid formula will keep your face from looking too matte, a common mistake that will make you look years older, and the powdery finish will eliminate the need for a separate powder. You'll save time, and you'll look younger. It can't get any better than that.

| Next, invest in a 3-in-1 eye shadow, lip color, and cheek color stick. These look a bit like those pancake foundation sticks from the 1970's, however they are in timeless, classic shades and are to be used on the
entire face for added color and definition. Simply swipe the stick lightly over the cheeks and eyelids, and use a lip brush to apply it to your lips. You'll have instant color and dewy skin, all in a matter of seconds.
Now, you can skip the lip liner if you like, especially if you use a lip plumper in your skin care routine, but you cannot skip the eyeliner. Defining the eyes makes such a tremendous difference that it must be included in your daily makeup routine. This doesn't necessarily mean that you must use a charcoal black shade, however. Browns, greys, and even colors such as blue and lavender are perfectly fine, provided that your eyes are what "pop," and not the liner itself. To make your eyes look instantly bigger and brighter, line only the top lashes, and stop just a bit short of going all the way to the inner edge. This will cost you a few extra bucks, but the time you'll save by not having to de-clump your lashes every morning will make it well worth it. Look for mascaras that have specialized wands created to keep clumps at bay. One swipe of these popular time savers and you'll be ready to go with perfectly separated lashes.

Your entire routine requires only five products, instead of fifteen, and you'll look fresh and finished in minutes. Just a pop of color in all the right places, along with a little definition, will give your complexion a healthy glow, and an added benefit is that this small effort can help take years off of your face. With a makeup routine this simple and quick, you'll have absolutely no excuse for leaving the house with an undone face. That's ok, though. Once you've seen how much of a difference this routine will make, and how easy it is to find time for, you won't want too.
